About HomeDosh
HomeDosh is a small, independent site about the tools behind sewing, quilting, embroidery, knitting and crochet.

What we do
People who make things at home spend real money on machines, cutters, hoops and needles, and most product pages make the choice harder, not easier. We try to do the reading for you: the manuals, the spec sheets, the warranty terms and the long threads where owners describe what happened after the first month.
Our guides start from the project, not from a star rating. “What should I buy for denim and bags?” is a better question than “What is the best sewing machine?”, and we write for the first one.
Who writes it
HomeDosh guides are researched, written and edited by the HomeDosh team and published under the team name rather than individual bylines. Every guide shows the date we last checked it and the sources it is based on, so you can judge the work itself.
What we don’t claim
Our recommendations are research-based. We don’t say we have used a product unless a guide states exactly that. See How we research for the full method.
How the site is paid for
HomeDosh is free to read and has no paid links or ads today. In future, some links to stores may become affiliate links: if you buy through one, the store may pay us a commission at no extra cost to you. Such links would be labeled “paid link”, and they would never decide what we recommend. Details are on how HomeDosh is funded.
A note on the name
HomeDosh relaunched in 2026 as a site about needlecraft. The domain was used for an unrelated home decor blog in the past; none of that content or its authors are connected to the current site.
